Junior VM - Harvey Nichols

I have had the privilege of working as a Junior VM during a month-long industry placement at Harvey Nichols. In this dynamic role, I engaged in various responsibilities including brand research, window display curation, and maintenance of standards.

Brand Research

  • Conducted brand research and SWOT analysis in-store for adjacency planogram and brand awareness, such as Phillip Klein 3.1 and Ph5.

  • Trend Forecast: Created presentations/Mood Boards of industry trends to guide team strategy.

 

Window Display

  • Participated in the selection and arrangement of products to be featured in the window, considering factors such as colour coordination, product grouping, and focal points.

  • Supported the installation and assembly of the window display, including arranging props, mannequins, and other visual elements. Followed VM Guidelines and Directives.

 

Maintaining Standards

  • Performed daily inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization of the display area, preserving brand integrity and health and safety standards.

  • Styled mannequins in alignment with current trends, brand identity, and stock availability.

  • Managed in-store signage and visual setups daily, including plotting and application of vinyl assets.

  • Utilized strategic product grouping and packaging for visual appeal in product displays, such as Easter Hampers, chocolates, and accessories.

  • Managed the introduction and replacement of new stock daily, ensuring brand identity and alignment with in-store directives.

Sales Associate - TJX Europe

During my time at TKMaxx, I had the incredible opportunity to integrate the Harrow Team, where I gained invaluable and extensive experience in retail operations. My daily duties included departmental checks, conducting stock inventories for auditor checks, optimizing layout, and creating seasonal displays. These responsibilities allowed me to contribute significantly to the overall efficiency and success of the retail environment.

General Team Administration

  • Worked closely with store managers.

  • Provided training for colleagues on how to maintain brand standards, including store upkeep, folding techniques, shopping habits, and product presentation.

  • Managed stock and inventory organization.

  • Supported events to achieve commercial objectives.

 

Retail Layout Optimization

  • Implemented effective adjacency and layout strategies to optimize retail space, enhancing product visibility and improving customer experience.

  • Implemented VM Guidelines for campaigns, promoting according to season and frequent in-store refreshes and updates, such as hot zones, Christmas, Easter displays, picnic displays, promotional and directional signage.

  • Developed seasonal and promotional display plans, coordinating installation and dismantling.

Architect & Project Manager- Inside Architects and Associates

My journey as an architect has been both challenging and immensely rewarding. Over the course of my career, I've been involved in more than 300 projects, each presenting diverse opportunities for growth and innovation. From project management to 3D modeling, and from interior design to architecture solutions for retail spaces, malls, and schools, I've navigated a wide spectrum of tasks with proficiency and passion.

  • Ensure permanent project implementation meets expected standards and provide regular updates for customers, contractors, and builders.

  • Project management and customer relationship management.

  • Coordinate with various suppliers to ensure alignment and timely delivery of projects within budget.

 

Design and Planning

  • Design creative solutions to meet customer needs and budget constraints. Completed over 15 residential projects, 7 concessions for department stores and shopping malls, and over 100 concessions for fairs and public markets.

  • Conducted over 300 technical visits for supervision and technical reporting.

  • Quotation and ordering of materials, inventory management.
